Copic Creations Challenge #12

Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome to our 12th Copic Creations challenge. This challenge is all about Fairies, Copics and colored pencils. We were furnished with these beautiful fairies from Janlynn, Stamps Happen. This one is Willow Flower Fairy from the Flower Fairies series. I am so impressed with the detail that these stamps have. I think they are so beautiful. I colored mine a bit differently than the image on the stamp suggested, but that's the beauty of stamping, isn't it. The challenge this time is to color with Copics AND colored pencils. If you happen to have a greater range of colored pencils than Copics, it's a great way to finish out your coloring. It's also helpful if you need to shade in such a tiny area that the Copics might not work. I did the mouth on my fairy with my Prismacolor Pencils. Had I been super careful and lighthanded, I probably could have used my Copic marker, but why chance it when you can add the pencil. There are several tutorials being offered, so check them out and give it a try. I hope you get to see what the rest of the DT came up with because these fairies are just so pretty and so are their cards. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

"Let It Snow....."

I had fun making this card with stamps by artist Tara Reed from Janlynn, Stamps Happen.
The trees are called "Whimsical Trees" and can be found here, and our cute little snowman is called "Snowman Santa" and can be found here. I stamped the set of 3 trees twice and colored them to match the fun paper I picked out from Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients. The kit included all the papers you see here, the rick-rack, "snow" and ribbon. I thought it would be fun to do this in not-so-traditional holiday colors, and I did end up liking it a lot. I then cut out both sets of trees, stamped our jolly snowman, colored him and cut him out. I used my new Polar White Flower Soft for snow. The sentiment and Snowflake are from my new Just Rite "Merry Little Christmas" set. Janlynn has some awesome Holiday stamps, so do check them out if you have a bit of time to browse. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back with more Fall/Holiday cards for you. Have a wonderful day.

Fun on the Ice - in JUNE?

Today I want to post a winter/Holiday card from Janlynn's Stamps Happen line called "The Skaters". The artist is Claire Stoner and I think it is an adorable and fun image. Doesn't it just make you want to pick out your favorite scarf and mittens and go play in the snow. Well, maybe not now since it's just the beginning of summer, but give it a few months and all you skaters will be anxious to put those skates on. I colored this all with Copics and used an SU! DP from the retired Wintergreen set. I used Soft Sky and Hunter Green for the solid CS. The sentiment is from PTI's Mailbox Greetings. Love that set! Hope you like this fun image. Janlynn carries some beautiful craft stamps. Hope you can check them out. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful week.

Snowmen in June

You may not want to be reminded of snow this early in June, but I got another Christmas card done to add to my self- challenge of doing one Christmas card a month. I'm still behind, but thanks to this adorable craft stamp by Janlynn, I'm catching up. This one is called "Cheerful Snowmen", and I'm sure you would agree they look cheerful. I colored them all with Copic markers and cut them out. They are mounted on a SU Top Note die cut in Not Quite Navy and then brayered with white craft ink. I had to add a bit more white with my gel pen to try to create the idea of a snowy night. All of that is mounted on Night of Navy with a Sentiment from PTI's "Made of Snow". The main CS is white. The stars are punched from a SU punch, and the trees are from SU's "Lovely as a Tree". I am just loving these little guys and plan to make more because they really are cheerful little fellas. Janlynn is having a SUPER SALE until the 14th of June, so be sure to check it out. They carry a big variety of items and their craft stamps are beautiful! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful start to the week.

Relax with a Cup of Tea

A few posts ago I shared a card done with a great craft stamp from the "Stamps Happen" line by Janlynn. Today I am featuring another one of their stamps called "Pot and Cup." I decided to color this in one of my favorite color combos which is yellow and blue. I used my gold pen to "etch" it in gold. The sentiment is from PTI's "Tea for Two". The DP is from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie and I made my own little version of a tea bag for an additional embellishment. My blue papers and brads are SU's Not Quite Navy. I can't wait to stamp the rest of the stamps I got from them. I'm really liking them and can't wait to show you the skaters! Thanks for stopping by. I think I'll go have a cup of tea. Care to join me?

"Celebrate"

I am not only celebrating Memorial Day and a long week-end, but I'm also celebrating getting to play with some fabulous new craft stamps from Janlynn called "Stamps Happen." She carries some awesome images and this is one I fell in love with. It's called Dancing Bunnies and I thought they looked like they were having the best time celebrating. I decided this would work for a number of occasions so it would be pretty versatile. They come with a colored image so for this first one I decided to color it pretty much per their suggestion. I cut it out with a Long Rectangle Nestie and then sponged it with Bashful Blue and Pink Pirouette. The papers are a combination of Stampin' Up, Basic Grey and the green plaid is from DCWV Nursery from Michael's. The flowers are Martha Stewart and the sentiment is from Flourishes' "Summer on the Patio." I hope you'll check out this great line of stamps....there is sure to be at least one you'll fall in love with. I have more to stamp and post for you including some adorable winter images to get you jump-started on Christmas. Hope you have a wonderful week-end. I have a patriotic card coming for Memorial Day, so "stay tuned." Thanks for stopping by.
